Dining Room

The dining room is not complete yet, but I’m going to post the changes we have made so far.

When we bought the house, the dining room was 100% wallpaper, borders on top of regular wall paper!  Joy.  We had about 10 people peeling away at the wallpaper for 4 hours until it was finally removed.

The colors weren’t terrible, but after we pulled off all the wallpaper, the walls were pretty rough.  We decided on Silver Sage by Restoration Hardware.  I’m obsessed with this color.  It’s SUCH a gorgeous green!  Silver Sage is the top color pictured below.

We painted the top Silver Sage and the bottom of the chair rail Toasted Almond to match the adjoining living room.

We were going to leave the room unfurnished, but we fell in love with the 17th Century Monastery Dining Table in Grey Acacia from Restoration Hardware.

For seating, we bought 4  upholstered side chairs.  I love the mismatched chair look, so I bought a slipcovered bench from Crate and Barrel to switch up the other side.

Note: Still on the hunt for awesome wing-back side chairs for each end.  I cannot seem to find any under $500!

We also switched out the light.  We bought a 5-pendant farmhouse light from Restoration Hardware as well.  Below you can see the space with the paint and new light.

I added fabulous drapes from Ballard that complement the green very nicely.

I’m going to wait to post more pictures as I’m still looking for a hutch and Queen Anne chairs.  Stay posted!

Thanks for the post! I needed two more chairs for my table too and after reading this, went with the C&B slipcovered bench (it’s on sale right now too)! It looks awesome. So does your room. I’ve really enjoyed reading your blog to get ideas and tips. Thanks for sharing 🙂

Where did you find the glass top for your dinning table. It looks so finished and what I am in need of. Thank you
